There are roads to Haad Rin, but we have warned you that the roads are not in the best condition and unless you are a good motorcycle driver then do not try to get to HadRin, as nearly all accidents involving motorcycles happen in this area. Our advice is to leave your motorcylce at the 7-11 at BanTai and pay approx 50 Baht for a pick up over the mountains to HaadRin. Kohpangan offers a lot of popular things to do one being snorkeling at most of Kohpangan beaches, one beach in particular is in the northeast side in the near of Koh Maa. Situated in the southern siamese Gulf of Thailand Koh Phangan is sister island to the World renowned tourist destination of Koh Samui that more than 1.5 million holiday seekers each year.

The south east part of Kho Phangan is the main party area which includes HadRin and the full moon party beach. Nearly all of the area surrounding Haad Rin is mountains making most of the fantastic white beaches unaccessable by road, the only way to get to them is by long tail boat from HaadRin. Although Koh Pha-ngan was first explored by backpacking hippies about twentyfive years ago, the island was before inhabited already about 2000 years ago by sea gypsies originating from the Malayan Peninsula. Koh Phangan was then targeted by Chinese migrants most of them coming from the province Hainan fleeing their country. Situated in the center of the Koh Samui Archipelago, Kohpangan is ideally located near top destinations such as Ang Thong archipelago and Koh Nangyuan. The easy to reach Ang Thong National Marine Park is composed of more than 40 small islands, endowed with natural caves and surrounded by crystal clear salt water.
